I’ve placed several orders never with any issues, till my most recent one last week. My order was delayed 24hrs due to a storm. I tried to pick them up at my local office but was denied. My copperband butterfly fish wouldn’t eat after I brought him home, which is common with these beautiful creatures. Black worms are always healthy. I just rinse real well and place worms in tub large enough not to crowd them. Then I cover with cold, refrigerated water (dechlorinated) just enough to cover them. I do daily water changes and can keep them in fridge for at least 6 weeks! Juvenile axolotls love them. I’m a breeder so order quite often. Craig never disappointments!

I cannot recommend Eastern Aquatics Blackworms highly enough! Blackworms are often hard to find in our local fish stores, and when they do have them in stock, they often limit how much you can buy per person.
As someone who raises newts, salamanders, and also works for an axolotl rescue (LibertyLand Axolotl Rescue), having quality live blackworms on hand in large amounts is incredibly important, not only for the amphibians who are too small to eat anything larger, but to help coax axolotls in rehab who have not been eating due to injury or illness back to health—which is why I order from EA; both their quality and their customer service is a step above.
I recently placed an order for blackworms on a Tuesday; the next morning I received an email from Craig at EA confirming that my order shipped the previous night and should be delivered by noon. Unfortunately, noon came and went without a delivery, and since I was on back-to-back calls for my day job my only option was to check the tracking (which still showed as waiting to be shipped) and send EA an email asking whether I could get an update on my order. I was worried that the blackworms—very important, and not exactly cheap—were sitting on a truck or a neighbor’s stoop baking in the sun.
Within an hour, Craig from Eastern Aquatics had not only seen my email, but had called me to get more information about my order. He then looked into the issue, and called me back a second time to confirm that my order was actually going to ship out that evening for delivery before noon on Thursday.
Craig was incredibly nice, responsive, and obviously cared about me as a customer and my order. In less than an hour, not only did I have my answer, but I had the peace of mind that comes with knowing that the worms were on their way rather than dying somewhere unnecessarily.
A huge Thank You to Craig and the team at EA! Because of them, I didn’t have to cut my workday short to go source more blackworms locally at a higher price, I didn’t have to stress about whether or not my order was going to arrive or had been lost, and none of our axolotls, newts or salamanders had their food source disrupted.
